Product Description

The Orbit 100 C4 column 250x8.0mm, 3.5µm, is a reversed phase column with a standard C4 modification. A C4 modification is often used when analytes show excessive retention on a C18 or C8 phase. On a C4 phase, these analytes are eluted much earlier. Since the influence of polar interactions with the silica framework is stronger, the selectivity may change compared to C8 or C18 phases. Due to the low hydrophobicity, very non-polar compounds such as steroids, lipophilic metabolites, or small peptides can be analyzed.

Performance characteristics and advantages

  • Nearly perfect spherical particles
  • High efficiency with low back pressure
  • High silica purity
  • Chemically and mechanically largely inert
  • Compatible with conventional HPLC systems

Further information

The Orbit series is based on almost perfectly spherical particles. This allows high efficiencies to be achieved with low back pressure. The Orbit columns have been developed specifically for routine analysis and offer high reproducibility. The service life can be increased by using suitable pre-column cartridges.
