About us

MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH is a manufacturer of HPLC and GPC columns and a supplier of chromatography columns and accessories. The family business is now in its second generation and is run by the daughter of the company's founder, Elena Chatziathanasiou Piller.

The company was founded in 1986 by Dr Mathäos Chatziathanasiou, a former chemistry student at the University of Mainz. He had just completed his dissertation on new developments in HPLC column technology under Prof. Dr Klaus Unger. The company proved to be very determined and soon became successful with its range of HPLC and GPC columns from its own production.

MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH is now a well-established manufacturer and supplier of chromatography columns. We ensure compliance with our high standards and customer satisfaction through quality management in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 certification and product quality control using state-of-the-art computer software. Thanks to our many years of effort and constant exchange of information with our customers, we have been able to realise a large number of new developments and technical innovations, almost all of which are listed in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP).

Elena Chatziathanassiou Piller joined the family business in 2013 and, after completing her studies in pharmacy and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), became actively involved in the management of the company. 

After three years of construction planning and implementation, MZ-Analysentechnik moved into its own company building in October 2020. The more than 2000 m² of space includes offices, production laboratories, development laboratories, storage space and meeting rooms for use by employees and business partners. 

We will continue to run our company responsibly and sustainably in the future. We are constantly working to develop chromatography columns and add them to our portfolio, enabling our customers to achieve the best possible performance and reliable results in the laboratory.
