MetAmino-Kit

The MetAmino^® Start-up Kit enables the analysis of up to 100 samples and provides all the components required for complete sample preparation. These include centrifuge tubes, filters, vials, and all reagents and washing solutions in the necessary quantities. The only laboratory equipment required is a centrifuge and a vortex mixer. For GC-MS applications, a suitable NIST-MS database is provided in the relevant kit, whilst retention times for LC-MS are documented in the user manual. In addition to the Start-up Kit, an Extended Kit for up to 400 samples is available. Furthermore, the reagent kit can be reordered separately if required. 

All steps are clearly described in the sample preparation protocol supplied. First, suspended solids and salts are removed from the sample using a precipitation reagent. Subsequently, protic functional groups of the analytes are converted into non-polar derivatives by adding a derivatisation reagent. The prepared sample is then transferred to a prepared Magnetic Solid Phase Extraction (MSPE) centrifugation column, where the analytes are selectively bound to the adsorption filter. Following the washing of the sample, elution takes place using the supplied elution medium, with the eluate being ready for direct injection for LC/MS analysis. Sample preparation can be carried out in less than 15 minutes per individual sample, in accordance with the protocol. When processing multiple samples in parallel, the time required can be further reduced.
