Particle Technologies

Particle technology plays an important role in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), as it has a significant influence on separation performance, efficiency and loadability. A distinction can be made between classic HPLC and UHPLC particles, fused-core particles and monolithic phases.

Classic HPLC and UHPLC particles include fully porous or non-porous, spherical and irregular silica particles, which are used in various chromatography and separation techniques.separation techniques separation techniques.

The Fused-Cpre / Core-Shell particle technology combines a solid core with a porous shell, resulting in improved separation performance and lower backpressures. They offer high efficiency with reduced analysis time and are particularly advantageous for complex sample matrices.

Monolithic phases consist of a single, highly porous rod material without particles. They enable fast separations with low back pressure and high flow rate, making them ideal for high sample throughput applications.
