The PerfectSil Target ODS-3 HD column 150x4.6mm, 5µm, is an octadecylsilyl-modified column (also known as ODS, RP-18, C18) with a high carbon loading for reversed-phase chromatography. This high loading protects the surface from attack by bases, allowing the column to be used at a pH of 2–11. The very high loading also results in very strong hydrophobic interactions, which can be useful for highly lipophilic analytes. These columns are used, for example, in pharmaceutical analysis, environmental analysis, food analysis, and pesticide and residue analysis.
The PerfectSil Target HD series is distinguished by its high pH stability. This pH stability is achieved through a high surface loading and a highly sophisticated end-capping process. To this end, the silica material is first pretreated to ensure that the modifications are evenly distributed across the entire surface. In addition to high pH stability, PerfectSil Target HD materials exhibit a very high carbon loading and good symmetry for basic compounds. The use of appropriate pre-column cartridges can extend the service life.
