The ICSep ION 300 HPLC column (300 × 7.8 mm, 7 µm) is a polymer-based column designed for the separation of organic acids and accompanying sugars. ICSep ION 300 is particularly suitable for samples in which glucose and fructose are to be analysed alongside organic acids. Typical applications include fermentation media, beverages, fruit products, bioprocess samples and food matrices.
The ICSep series is based on polystyrene-divinylbenzene polymers. Fully sulfonated PS/DVB materials are used for ion exclusion of organic acids and alcohols. For organic and inorganic ions, functionalized, macroporous PS/DVB resins are used, for example, with quaternary ammonium groups for anion exchange or with sulfonic acid or carboxyl groups for cation exchange. The polymer backbone makes ICSep particularly suitable for aqueous, ionic matrices; appropriate pre-columns protect the main column from particles and matrix contaminants.
ICSep is a registered trademark of the manufacturer Concise Separations, San Jose, USA.
