The ICSep ION 310 HPLC column (150 × 6.5 mm, 8 µm) is suitable for ion-exclusion-based separations in wine, must and fermentation samples. ICSep ION 310 is used when organic acids, alcohols and sugar components need to be monitored in an aqueous matrix. Typical applications include grape must analysis, wine analysis, fermentation monitoring and process control.
The ICSep series is based on polystyrene-divinylbenzene polymers. Fully sulfonated PS/DVB materials are used for ion exclusion of organic acids and alcohols. For organic and inorganic ions, functionalized, macroporous PS/DVB resins are used, for example, with quaternary ammonium groups for anion exchange or with sulfonic acid or carboxyl groups for cation exchange. The polymer backbone makes ICSep particularly suitable for aqueous, ionic matrices; appropriate pre-columns protect the main column from particles and matrix contaminants.
ICSep is a registered trademark of the manufacturer Concise Separations, San Jose, USA.
