The ICSep Coregel 87H1 HPLC column (100 × 7.8 mm, 9 µm) is a short H+ ion-exclusion phase designed for rapid analysis of organic acids, alcohols and sugar mixtures. ICSep Coregel 87H1 is used when known analytes need to be monitored within a shortened run time. Typical applications include rapid fermentation monitoring, quality control of beverages and process monitoring in aqueous matrices.
The ICSep series is based on polystyrene-divinylbenzene polymers. Fully sulfonated PS/DVB materials are used for ion exclusion of organic acids and alcohols. For organic and inorganic ions, functionalized, macroporous PS/DVB resins are used, for example, with quaternary ammonium groups for anion exchange or with sulfonic acid or carboxyl groups for cation exchange. The polymer backbone makes ICSep particularly suitable for aqueous, ionic matrices; appropriate pre-columns protect the main column from particles and matrix contaminants.
ICSep is a registered trademark of the manufacturer Concise Separations, San Jose, USA.
