The ICSep ARH 601 HPLC column (100 × 6.5 mm) is a polymer-based ion-exclusion column for organic acids and alcohols. ICSep ARH 601 is suitable for rapid aqueous methods in which low-molecular-weight organic acids, alcohols and co-eluting components are analysed in process or fermentation samples. Typical applications include fermentation monitoring, food analysis and the monitoring of organic acids in aqueous matrices.
The ICSep series is based on polystyrene-divinylbenzene polymers. Fully sulfonated PS/DVB materials are used for ion exclusion of organic acids and alcohols. For organic and inorganic ions, functionalized, macroporous PS/DVB resins are used, for example, with quaternary ammonium groups for anion exchange or with sulfonic acid or carboxyl groups for cation exchange. The polymer backbone makes ICSep particularly suitable for aqueous, ionic matrices; appropriate pre-columns protect the main column from particles and matrix contaminants.
