IEC DEAE-5025 300x50mm Ion Exchange Preparative Column

The Shodex IEC DEAE-5025 preparative HPLC column 300x50mm, contains a large-pore, hydrophilic polyhydroxymethacrylate gel with diethylaminoethyl groups as a weak anion exchanger. The coarse-particle packing bed is designed for high sample loadings and the transfer of DEAE selectivity to the preparative scale. Shodex IEC DEAE-5025 is used for the purification of proteins, enzymes and nucleic acids when pH-dependent binding and gentle elution are required.

The IEX Series combines polyhydroxymethacrylate, polyvinyl alcohol, and styrene-divinylbenzene frameworks. Quaternary ammonium and sulfopropyl groups act as strong ion exchangers, while DEAE and carboxymethyl groups act as weak ion exchangers. Large-pore packing improves access for proteins and nucleic acids, while nonporous particles offer particularly short transport paths. The choice of phase depends on net charge, isoelectric point, molecular size, and the desired elution strategy.
