The Avantor ACE Excel SuperC18 HPLC/UHPLC column 35x3.0mm, 1.7µm, is based on a proprietary encapsulated octadecylsilyl modification (other designations: ODS, RP-18, C18) for reversed-phase chromatography. The special feature of the Avantor ACE Excel SuperC18 is the high stability across an extended pH range, allowing method development, pH screening and LC-MS-compatible mobile phases to be implemented flexibly. The C18 selectivity combines hydrophobic retention with very good peak shape, particularly for basic or difficult-to-chromatograph compounds. The Excel format supports high efficiency and fast analyses on UHPLC and HPLC systems. Typical applications include pharmaceutical method development, pesticide and herbicide analysis, vitamins, biomarker profiling and routine analyses with aqueous–organic eluents.
Avantor ACE Excel combines ACE silica chemistry with a UHPLC-compatible column format. The high-purity, base-deactivated silica matrix minimizes secondary interactions and ensures reproducible retention times. The combination of inert silica, controlled ligand bonding, and pressure-stable hardware allows methods to be implemented in both UHPLC and conventional HPLC systems. Compatible Avantor ACE Excel guard cartridges protect the analytical column from the sample matrix and help maintain the performance of the Excel method over extended runs.
