The Avantor ACE Excel SIL HPLC/UHPLC column 100x2.1mm, 5µm, is made of unmodified, high-purity silica and is used primarily in normal phase chromatography. The Avantor ACE Excel SIL utilises polar silanol interactions and is suitable for analytes that are not sufficiently retained on reversed phases. The phase offers a classical silica selectivity with good reproducibility and can be used for sensitive methods with non-polar mobile phases. The Excel format supports high efficiency and fast analyses on UHPLC and HPLC systems. Typical applications are lipids, fat-soluble vitamins, tocopherols, isomers, natural products and separations where adsorption chromatography is predominant.
Avantor ACE Excel combines ACE silica chemistry with a UHPLC-compatible column format. The high-purity, base-deactivated silica matrix minimizes secondary interactions and ensures reproducible retention times. The combination of inert silica, controlled ligand bonding, and pressure-stable hardware allows methods to be implemented in both UHPLC and conventional HPLC systems. Compatible Avantor ACE Excel guard cartridges protect the analytical column from the sample matrix and help maintain the performance of the Excel method over extended runs.
