The Avantor ACE Excel C8 HPLC/UHPLC column 250x4.0mm, 3µm, features an octyl modification (also designated RP-8, C8) for reversed-phase chromatography. The Avantor ACE Excel C8 shows lower hydrophobicity compared with C18 phases and therefore shorter retention times for very non-polar analytes. C8 selectivity is useful when methods are to be accelerated or when very strongly retained substances need to be eluted more effectively. The Excel format supports high efficiency and fast analyses on UHPLC and HPLC systems. Typical applications are pharmaceutical monographs, doxepin, metronidazole, benzothiazoles, fatty acids, organic impurities and routine analysis in tablet, injection and eye drop formulations.
Avantor ACE Excel combines ACE silica chemistry with a UHPLC-compatible column format. The high-purity, base-deactivated silica matrix minimizes secondary interactions and ensures reproducible retention times. The combination of inert silica, controlled ligand bonding, and pressure-stable hardware allows methods to be implemented in both UHPLC and conventional HPLC systems. Compatible Avantor ACE Excel guard cartridges protect the analytical column from the sample matrix and help maintain the performance of the Excel method over extended runs.
