The Kromasil Eternity C18 HPLC column 30x3.0mm, 5µm, is based on an octadecyl phase (other designations: ODS, RP-18, C18) on the stabilised Eternity platform. The C18 modification provides pronounced hydrophobic retention and is used in reversed-phase chromatography. Kromasil Eternity C18 is particularly suitable for methods where classical C18 selectivity is to be combined with increased chemical robustness. Typical applications are pharmaceutical active substance and impurity analysis, basic compounds, method development under more demanding pH conditions, quality control and scale-up from analytical HPLC to preparative separations.
Kromasil Eternity is based on the Kromasil 100 Ã… silica matrix and a silica/organosilane surface designed for greater chemical stability. This silica framework combines the mechanical stability and defined pore structure of the Kromasil platform with a surface that supports long stationary-phase lifetime even under more demanding pH conditions. The platform is designed for reverse-phase separations and facilitates method development, method transfer, and the scaling up of analytical columns to larger HPLC formats. Compatible Kromasil Eternity pre-column cartridges protect the packing bed of the analytical column and ensure reproducible retention times during routine operation.
