Neonicotinoids
Neonicotinoids are pesticides that were already banned in the EU in 2018. However, neonicotinoids continue to be exported and are used in other countries. Three substances are in particular focus: Imidacloprid, thiamethoxam and clothianidin.
As these compounds are not only effective against pests but also against bees, for example, and accumulate in soil and water, monitoring is necessary. However, there are currently no generally applicable limit values.
