The HALO 90Å PFAS PCS Phenyl-Hexyl HPLC column 150x3.0mm, 2.7µm, is based on a phenyl-hexyl modification using PCS technology on a 90 Å fused-core particle. PCS stands for a positively charged surface that can increase the retention of highly polar and short-chain PFAS compounds in reverse-phase chromatography. In addition, the phenyl-hexyl group enables not only hydrophobic interactions but also aromatic interactions. HALO PFAS PCS Phenyl-Hexyl is therefore particularly suitable for PFAS methods in which ultra-short-chain, short-chain, and longer-chain PFAS are to be detected together. Typical applications include EPA 533, EPA 537.1, EPA 1633, EPA 8327, and newer PFAS methods with LC-MS/MS detection. The HALO PFAS PCS Phenyl-Hexyl phase offers an alternative selectivity to PFAS C18 and is frequently used in conjunction with a PFAS Delay Column.
The HALO Series is based on a core-shell material. This means that the particles have a non-porous core and a porous shell. This allows for high efficiency while maintaining low backpressure. As a result, UHPLC performance is possible with a standard HPLC system. This makes the HALO Series an attractive option for laboratories that require maximum performance with the shortest possible retention times. The service life can be extended by using appropriate pre-column cartridges.
