The HALO C8 90Å HPLC column 250x4.6mm, 2.7µm, is based on a standard octysilyl phase (also known as OS, RP-8, C8) with a core-shell particle for reverse-phase chromatography. The hydrophobic interactions of the HALO C8 are lower compared to the HALO C18 column. As a result, nonpolar analytes elute earlier, while selectivity remains comparable. Therefore, this phase is used, for example, in pharmaceuticals, environmental analysis, and for highly hydrophobic analytes.
The HALO Series is based on a core-shell material. This means that the particles have a non-porous core and a porous shell. This allows for high efficiency while maintaining low backpressure. As a result, UHPLC performance is possible with a standard HPLC system. This makes the HALO Series an attractive option for laboratories that require maximum performance with the shortest possible retention times. The service life can be extended by using appropriate pre-column cartridges.
