The HALO HILIC 90Å HPLC column 150x4.6mm, 2.7µm, is based on unmodified silica core-shell particles. This makes this phase suitable for hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC) and normal-phase chromatography. The exclusively polar interactions of the HALO HILIC allow for interaction with polar analytes. Therefore, this phase can be used to analyze analytes that are too polar for reversed-phase chromatography and thus experience very little or no retention. Typical applications include, for example, beta-blockers or water-soluble vitamins.
The HALO Series is based on a core-shell material. This means that the particles have a non-porous core and a porous shell. This allows for high efficiency while maintaining low backpressure. As a result, UHPLC performance is possible with a standard HPLC system. This makes the HALO Series an attractive option for laboratories that require maximum performance with the shortest possible retention times. The service life can be extended by using appropriate pre-column cartridges.
