The HALO 160 Å ES-C18 HPLC column 100x1.5mm, 2µm, is based on an octydecylsilyl phase (also known as ODS, RP-18, C18) on a core-shell material. Additionally, the silanes contain isobutyl side chains, giving the phase pH stability up to 1. The 160 Å pores of the HALO 160 Å ES-C18 ensure unimpeded diffusion of peptides into the pores. This makes this phase suitable for the analysis of tryptic digests, post-translational modifications (PTMs), or polypeptides.
The HALO Bioclass series is based on a core-shell material. This means that the particles have a non-porous core and a porous shell. This allows for high efficiency while maintaining low backpressure. As a result, UHPLC performance is possible using a standard HPLC system. Compared to the HALO series, the HALO Bioclass series features larger pores (160 Å, 400 Å, and 1,000 Å). This allows biological samples—ranging from small peptides to proteins and antibodies—to be analyzed using core-shell technology. The service life can be extended by using appropriate precolumn cartridges.
