Product Description

The Discovery C8 HPLC column 125x4.0mm, 5µm, carries an octyl modification (other designations: RP-8, C8) on silica. The Discovery C8 shows lower retention than C18 and is suitable for faster RP methods or very hydrophobic analytes. Typical applications of the Discovery C8 are active ingredients, peptide fragments, lipophilic compounds and methods where shorter analysis times are required.

Features and Benefits

  • Wide range of selectivities
  • Silica, zirconia, and Bio-Wide-Pore phases
  • Suitable for RP, specialized RP, and bioanalytics
  • Robust method development
  • Compatible Supelguard column protection systems

Additional Information

The Discovery Series includes various material platforms and surface chemistries. In addition to classic silica-based reverse-phase columns, high-purity HS phases, pentafluorophenyl, RP-amide, and PEG selectivities, as well as zirconia-based phases, are available. Bio-Wide-Pore variants with larger pores are designed for peptides and proteins. This makes Discovery particularly well-suited for method development when standard C18 selectivity is insufficient or more robust surfaces are required.
