The Discovery RP-Amide C16 HPLC column 125x4.0mm, 5µm, combines a C16 alkyl chain with a polar-embedded amide function. The Discovery RP-Amide C16 often retains polar substances better than purely hydrophobic phases and shows different selectivities for basic compounds. The Discovery RP-Amide C16 is used in pharmaceutical method development, bioanalysis and LC–MS-compatible RP methods.
The Discovery Series includes various material platforms and surface chemistries. In addition to classic silica-based reverse-phase columns, high-purity HS phases, pentafluorophenyl, RP-amide, and PEG selectivities, as well as zirconia-based phases, are available. Bio-Wide-Pore variants with larger pores are designed for peptides and proteins. This makes Discovery particularly well-suited for method development when standard C18 selectivity is insufficient or more robust surfaces are required.
