The Inertsil WP300 Diol HPLC column 150x4.6mm, 5µm, features dihydroxypropyl groups on wide-pore silica with a pore size of 300 Å. Inertsil WP300 Diol can be used for aqueous and organic size-exclusion chromatography (SEC/GFC) and is designed for large molecules. In addition, the diol surface also enables normal-phase and selected reverse-phase applications. Typical applications include proteins, biopolymers, PEG-conjugated compounds, liposomes, large natural products, and molecular-size-dependent separations.
The Inertsil series is based on a high-purity, spherical silica matrix whose pore structure, particle size distribution, and surface are carefully controlled during production. Low metal contamination and careful surface treatment reduce the activity of free silanol groups. This minimizes undesirable secondary interactions—particularly tailing and adsorption with basic or chelating analytes—and promotes stable retention times. This reproducible silica matrix forms the basis for the various Inertsil modifications and ensures reliable selectivities across the series. Appropriate Inertsil pre-column cartridges should be used to protect the analytical packing bed from particles and the sample matrix and to extend column lifespan.
