The SUGAR KS-2006 HPLC column 300x20mm, 25µm, is provided from sulfonated styrene-divinylbenzene resin and sulfonic acid groups in sodium form. SUGAR KS-2006 transfers the particularly wide-pore selectivity of the analytical KS-806 to higher loadings and has a nominal exclusion limit of about 50,000,000 Da for pullulan. Typical applications are very high-molecular-weight polysaccharides and water-soluble polymer fractions at preparative scale.
The SUGAR product family is based on sulfonated styrene-divinylbenzene resins with defined counterions such as calcium, lead, sodium, zinc, or hydrogen. The counterion controls ligand exchange with hydroxyl groups, while pore size and polymer crosslinking determine the size-exclusion component. Columns in the hydrogen form additionally enable ion exclusion for organic acids. Since selectivity depends heavily on temperature, counterion, and water quality, the recommended operating conditions should be strictly adhered to.
