Product Description

The Waters Sep-Pak Silica SPE cartridge is based on unmodified silica and has a polar silanol surface. Chromatographically the Waters Sep-Pak Silica is designed for application in normal-phase SPE. The silica surface adsorbs polar analytes from non-polar solvents and is suitable for classical adsorption cleanup protocols. Applications of the Waters Sep-Pak Silica include lipids, pigments, natural products, extract cleanup and normal-phase fractionation.

Features and Benefits

  • Well-established SPE product family
  • Wide range of silica and adsorbent phases
  • Multiple cartridge and sorbent volumes
  • For liquid and gaseous samples
  • Manual and automated sample preparation

Additional Information

Sep-Pak includes classic silica-based SPE phases as well as inorganic adsorbents and derivatized specialty cartridges. C18, tC18, C8, CN, NH2, and Diol cover different polarity and selectivity ranges. Silica, alumina, and Florisil operate primarily through adsorption mechanisms, whereas DNPH-Silica chemically derivatizes and subsequently retains carbonyl compounds. The wide selection of cartridge sizes allows sample volume, sorbent quantity, and required capacity to be tailored to the specific workflow.
