The Waters IC-Pak Anion HC HPLC column 150x4.6mm, 10µm is built on a polymethacrylate-based resin matrix and bears quaternary ammonium groups with high capacity. The main application focus of the Waters IC-Pak Anion HC is anion chromatography; the Waters IC-Pak Anion HC separates analytes via charge-dependent interactions. The HC version has higher capacity and is suitable for samples with a wide concentration range. Typical applications of the Waters IC-Pak Anion HC include heavily loaded water samples, anion profiles, process control and environmental analysis.
IC-Pak includes several types of materials for ion chromatography. The anion phases are based on functionalized polymer resins with quaternary ammonium groups and differ, among other things, in resolution and capacity. For cations, sulfonated polymer materials as well as the C M/D phase on coated silica are available. IC-Pak Ion Exclusion uses a highly sulfonated resin and separates weak acids via ion exclusion and distribution effects. Since the packing material and separation mechanism vary within the brand, the guard column must always be selected with the same phase.
