The Kromasil 60 SIL HPLC column 250x4.6mm, 5µm, is based on unmodified silica with 60 Å pore size. The polar silica surface is suitable for normal-phase chromatography and can also be used for very polar selectivities in SFC methods. Kromasil 60 SIL is particularly suitable for small organic molecules when a high accessible surface area and pronounced adsorption selectivity are required. Typical applications are isomer separations, apolar eluent systems, small active substances, intermediates, natural products and method development outside classical C18 selectivities.
The Kromasil series is based on highly stable, spherical, and fully porous silica particles. The silica matrix combines a high surface area, high pore volume, and a controlled pore structure with a narrow particle size distribution. This supports efficient packing beds, low pressure drops relative to performance, and good column and batch reproducibility. The Kromasil platform offers different pore sizes: 60 Ã… for small organic molecules, 100 Ã… for small molecules and peptides, and 300 Ã… for proteins and larger biomolecules. Appropriate Kromasil pre-column cartridges can be used to protect the analytical packing bed from particles, sample matrix, and hard-to-elute components.
Kromasil is a registered trademark of the manufacturer Nouryon, Bohus, Sweden.
