Kromasil 60-5-Diol 50 x 150 mm (XP)

The Kromasil 60 Diol HPLC column 150x50mm, 5µm, is based on a diol modification on 60 Å silica. The polar diol surface provides hydrogen-bonding and dipole interactions and is used primarily in normal-phase chromatography and for polar separation mechanisms. Kromasil 60 Diol enables a milder, less strongly adsorptive selectivity than unmodified silica. Typical applications are polar small molecules, natural products, pharmaceutical intermediates, isomer separations, lipids and methods where silica shows interactions that are too strong or too unspecific.

The Kromasil series is based on highly stable, spherical, and fully porous silica particles. The silica matrix combines a high surface area, high pore volume, and a controlled pore structure with a narrow particle size distribution. This supports efficient packing beds, low pressure drops relative to performance, and good column and batch reproducibility. The Kromasil platform offers different pore sizes: 60 Å for small organic molecules, 100 Å for small molecules and peptides, and 300 Å for proteins and larger biomolecules. Appropriate Kromasil pre-column cartridges can be used to protect the analytical packing bed from particles, sample matrix, and hard-to-elute components.
