Product Description

The Waters Spherisorb C1 HPLC column 200x4.6mm, 5µm, is based on spherical silica and features a short-chain methyl modification. The Waters Spherisorb C1 was developed for separations in reversed-phase chromatography. The very low hydrophobicity leads to weaker RP retention and can be advantageous for highly hydrophilic analytes. The Waters Spherisorb C1 is used, among other things, for specialised RP selectivities, reduced run times and methods with low hydrophobic retention.

Features and Benefits

  • Robust 80-Å silica
  • Particle sizes of 3, 5, and 10 µm
  • Phases for RP, NP, and ion exchange
  • ODS1 and ODS2 with different ligand densities
  • Analytical and preparative formats

Additional Information

The Spherisorb series is based on mechanically robust silica with a pore size of 80 Å and is available in several particle sizes. ODS1 has a lower ligand density and lower carbon loading, while ODS2 offers a more densely packed, end-capped C18 surface. The series is complemented by short alkyl chains, cyano, phenyl, amino, and silica phases, as well as strong anion- and cation-exchange phases. This allows for the coverage of a wide range of classical HPLC methods using a silica base that is consistent across the product family.
