Kromasil 100-13-PhenylHexyl 50 x 250 mm

The Kromasil 100 PhenylHexyl HPLC column 250x50mm, 13µm, combines a phenyl group with a hexyl linker on 100 Å silica. This creates π-π interactions and stronger hydrophobic interactions than with short phenyl phases. Kromasil 100 PhenylHexyl is used in reversed-phase chromatography and offers an alternative selectivity to C18 phases, particularly for aromatic analytes. Typical applications are structural isomers, xanthines, pharmaceutical actives, natural products, aromatic contaminants and method development when alkyl phases do not provide sufficient resolution.

The Kromasil series is based on highly stable, spherical, and fully porous silica particles. The silica matrix combines a high surface area, high pore volume, and a controlled pore structure with a narrow particle size distribution. This supports efficient packing beds, low pressure drops relative to performance, and good column and batch reproducibility. The Kromasil platform offers different pore sizes: 60 Å for small organic molecules, 100 Å for small molecules and peptides, and 300 Å for proteins and larger biomolecules. Appropriate Kromasil pre-column cartridges can be used to protect the analytical packing bed from particles, sample matrix, and hard-to-elute components.
