The Kromasil 100 NH2 HPLC column 250x50mm, 5µm, features an amino modification on 100 Å silica. The polar amino group enables retention via HILIC, normal-phase and ionic interactions. Kromasil 100 NH2 is particularly suitable for polar compounds that are only weakly retained on C18 phases. Typical applications include carbohydrates, sugars, organic acids, water-soluble vitamins, polar active substances, pharmaceutical excipients and methods where both hydrophilic and weak ionic interactions are to be utilised.
The Kromasil series is based on highly stable, spherical, and fully porous silica particles. The silica matrix combines a high surface area, high pore volume, and a controlled pore structure with a narrow particle size distribution. This supports efficient packing beds, low pressure drops relative to performance, and good column and batch reproducibility. The Kromasil platform offers different pore sizes: 60 Ã… for small organic molecules, 100 Ã… for small molecules and peptides, and 300 Ã… for proteins and larger biomolecules. Appropriate Kromasil pre-column cartridges can be used to protect the analytical packing bed from particles, sample matrix, and hard-to-elute components.
