Kromasil 100-5-C18 4.0 x 125 mm

The Kromasil 100 C18 HPLC column 125x4.0mm, 5µm, is based on an octadecyl phase (also known as ODS, RP-18, C18) on 100 Å silica. The C18 modification provides pronounced hydrophobic retention and is used as a universal standard phase in reversed-phase chromatography. Kromasil 100 C18 is suitable for broad routine applications with small molecules and peptides up to approximately mid-range molecular weights. Typical applications include pharmaceutical quality control, API and impurity analysis, natural products, food analysis, environmental analysis, pesticide screening and method transfer up to preparative scales.

The Kromasil series is based on highly stable, spherical, and fully porous silica particles. The silica matrix combines a high surface area, high pore volume, and a controlled pore structure with a narrow particle size distribution. This supports efficient packing beds, low pressure drops relative to performance, and good column and batch reproducibility. The Kromasil platform offers different pore sizes: 60 Å for small organic molecules, 100 Å for small molecules and peptides, and 300 Å for proteins and larger biomolecules. Appropriate Kromasil pre-column cartridges can be used to protect the analytical packing bed from particles, sample matrix, and hard-to-elute components.
