Kromasil 300-5-SIL 20 x 250 mm

The Kromasil 300 SIL HPLC column 250x20mm, 5µm, is based on unmodified silica with a 300 Å pore size. The large pore structure facilitates access of larger molecules to the inner surface and supports mass transport for biomolecules. Kromasil 300 SIL can be used for normal-phase and adsorptive separations of larger substances when a polar surface without organic modification is required. Typical applications include proteins, peptides, biomolecules, macromolecular natural products, method development and the characterisation of larger polar compounds.

The Kromasil series is based on highly stable, spherical, and fully porous silica particles. The silica matrix combines a high surface area, high pore volume, and a controlled pore structure with a narrow particle size distribution. This supports efficient packing beds, low pressure drops relative to performance, and good column and batch reproducibility. The Kromasil platform offers different pore sizes: 60 Å for small organic molecules, 100 Å for small molecules and peptides, and 300 Å for proteins and larger biomolecules. Appropriate Kromasil pre-column cartridges can be used to protect the analytical packing bed from particles, sample matrix, and hard-to-elute components.
