Product Description
The Shodex ORpak CDBS-SP chiral HPLC column 150x4.6mm uses a β-cyclodextrin derivative on porous silica and corresponds to USP classification L45. Shodex ORpak CDBS-SP is a specially selected variant for which a resolution of greater than 2.1 is specified when tested with noradrenaline (norepinephrine). The phase is intended for demanding chiral pharmaceutical methods where a higher and tightly defined separation performance is required compared with the standard variant.

Additional Notes
ORpak CDBS-453 uses a β-cyclodextrin derivative on porous silica. The chiral cavity of the cyclodextrin distinguishes enantiomers based on size, shape, and the spatial arrangement of functional groups. In addition, hydrogen bonding, dipole forces, and hydrophobic interactions can influence enantioselectivity. The mobile phase must be selected so that inclusion complex formation and additional interactions remain in balance.
