The Kromasil SFC SIL column 150x4.6mm, 5µm, is based on unmodified, fully porous silica with 100 Å pore size. In supercritical fluid chromatography, the Kromasil SFC SIL uses the polar silanol surface for adsorption, dipole and hydrogen-bonding interactions. This modification is suitable as a strongly polar reference phase in SFC screening when retention of polar or structurally similar compounds is to be increased. Typical applications are method development, pharmaceutical intermediates, natural products, isomers and preparative purifications with CO₂-based mobile phases.
The Kromasil SFC series is based on spherical, fully porous Kromasil silica with a pore size of 100 Ã…. The series is designed for supercritical fluid chromatography and includes the SIL, CN, Diol, 2EP, and XT modifications. This selection allows for SFC screening ranging from unmodified silica through polar diol and cyano phases to 2-ethylpyridine and XT. Thanks to the high mechanical stability of the Kromasil base material, Kromasil SFC can be used for both rapid analytical methods and for scale-up and preparative SFC separations. Matching Kromasil SFC pre-column cartridges protect the packing bed from particles, sample matrix, and heavily retained impurities.
Kromasil is a registered trademark of the manufacturer Nouryon, Bohus, Sweden.
