Kromasil SFC-5-CN 3.0 x 100 mm

The Kromasil SFC CN column 100x3.0mm, 5µm, has a monofunctional cyano modification on 100 Å silica. The CN group provides medium polarity in SFC and combines dipole-dipole interactions with mildly hydrophobic contributions. Kromasil SFC CN therefore provides a different selectivity compared with unmodified silica and is well suited to fast gradient methods where neutral, polar and medium-polarity compounds need to be separated in a short time. Typical applications are active substance screening, impurity profiles, pharmaceutical development samples, pesticides and synthesis intermediates.

The Kromasil SFC series is based on spherical, fully porous Kromasil silica with a pore size of 100 Å. The series is designed for supercritical fluid chromatography and includes the SIL, CN, Diol, 2EP, and XT modifications. This selection allows for SFC screening ranging from unmodified silica through polar diol and cyano phases to 2-ethylpyridine and XT. Thanks to the high mechanical stability of the Kromasil base material, Kromasil SFC can be used for both rapid analytical methods and for scale-up and preparative SFC separations. Matching Kromasil SFC pre-column cartridges protect the packing bed from particles, sample matrix, and heavily retained impurities.
