The ICSep AN300H HPLC column (150 × 5.5 mm) is a high-capacity anion-exchange column for ion chromatography in EPA-compliant water analysis. Compared with the standard AN300, the ICSep AN300H is designed for stronger eluents and improved resolution when the major anions need to be separated in more challenging samples. Typical target ions include fluoride, chloride, nitrite, bromide, nitrate, phosphate and sulphate. The column is primarily used in drinking water, wastewater, environmental samples and process water where high chloride or nitrate loads may hinder the separation of the subsequent anions.
The ICSep series is based on polystyrene-divinylbenzene polymers. Fully sulfonated PS/DVB materials are used for ion exclusion of organic acids and alcohols. For organic and inorganic ions, functionalized, macroporous PS/DVB resins are used, for example, with quaternary ammonium groups for anion exchange or with sulfonic acid or carboxyl groups for cation exchange. The polymer backbone makes ICSep particularly suitable for aqueous, ionic matrices; appropriate pre-columns protect the main column from particles and matrix contaminants.
ICSep is a registered trademark of the manufacturer Concise Separations, San Jose, USA.
