The ICSep AN300BHS HPLC column (50 × 4.6 mm) is a high-speed variant of the AN300B, designed for the ion chromatography of anions and oxyhalides. The stationary phase is designed for simple samples and high sample throughput when the separation characteristics of the AN300B are required with a significantly reduced retention time. ICSep AN300BHS is used in particular for fluoride, chloride, nitrite, bromide, nitrate, phosphate, sulphate, as well as chlorite, chlorate and bromate. Thanks to its solvent compatibility, the column can also be useful for heavily contaminated matrices, such as in drinking water, environmental and process water analysis following oxidative water treatment.
The ICSep series is based on polystyrene-divinylbenzene polymers. Fully sulfonated PS/DVB materials are used for ion exclusion of organic acids and alcohols. For organic and inorganic ions, functionalized, macroporous PS/DVB resins are used, for example, with quaternary ammonium groups for anion exchange or with sulfonic acid or carboxyl groups for cation exchange. The polymer backbone makes ICSep particularly suitable for aqueous, ionic matrices; appropriate pre-columns protect the main column from particles and matrix contaminants.
ICSep is a registered trademark of the manufacturer Concise Separations, San Jose, USA.
