The Avantor ACE NH2 HPLC column 100x1.0mm, 3µm, features an aminopropyl modification and can be used in normal phase, HILIC and strongly aqueous reversed phase. The Avantor ACE NH2 offers polar, basic and ionic interactions and is therefore of interest for very hydrophilic compounds. The phase is frequently used when neutral or weakly charged carbohydrates and related polar analytes show insufficient retention on conventional reversed phases. Typical applications are sugars, mono- and disaccharides, acarbose, lactulose solutions, vitamin E analysis and alcohol-related biomarkers.
The Avantor ACE Series is based on high-purity, spherical silica with very low metal contamination and targeted base deactivation. Controlled surface chemistry reduces the activity of free silanol groups, which promotes symmetrical peaks and reproducible retention times, particularly for basic analytes. The portfolio includes classic fully porous 100 Å phases, alternative selectivities, and 300 Å wide-pore materials for larger molecules. Using compatible Avantor ACE guard cartridges protects the silica backbone of the analytical column from matrix components and can extend the column’s service life.
