The Elufix Standard glass cartridge 2000/2000mg was developed for clean-up prior to determination of the mineral oil hydrocarbon index according to DIN EN ISO 9377-2.Depending on the version Elufix Standard contains 1, 2 or 4 g Florisil and a matched quantity of anhydrous sodium sulfate.The Florisil removes polar co-extractives from the hydrocarbon extract while the sodium sulfate binds residual water.The cartridges are batch-certified and can also be used for the investigation of soils according to DIN EN ISO 16703 or DIN EN ISO 14039.Elufix Standard is ready-to-use; contamination-protected packaged -P variants enable applications without additional conditioning.

Additional Notes

Depending on the application, Elufix comprises various inorganic sorbents and drying materials. The H53 versions contain Florisil, a polar-adsorbing magnesium silicate, either alone or in combination with anhydrous sodium sulfate. The sodium sulfate binds residual water, while Florisil removes polar matrix components from hydrocarbon extracts. Elufix Indicator PCB, on the other hand, uses sodium sulfate and sulfuric acid-impregnated silica. The glass bodies and suitable filter materials minimize interactions with organic solvents. Special contamination-protected packaging marked with the suffix -P may eliminate the need for conditioning prior to use.
