The HALO ES-CN 90Å HPLC column 150x3.0mm, 2.7µm, is a cyano-phase column that can be used in both normal-phase and reverse-phase modes and is based on core-shell particles. The CN group in the HALO ES-CN enables dipole-dipole and π-π interactions. The hydrophobic linker also allows for weak hydrophobic interactions. Furthermore, this phase has isopropyl side chains on the silane, resulting in pH stability up to 1. This gives the HALO ES-CN an alternative selectivity compared to other alkyl phases. This phase is particularly suitable for explosives, aromatics, polar compounds, and unsaturated analytes in general.
The HALO Series is based on a core-shell material. This means that the particles have a non-porous core and a porous shell. This allows for high efficiency while maintaining low backpressure. As a result, UHPLC performance is possible with a standard HPLC system. This makes the HALO Series an attractive option for laboratories that require maximum performance with the shortest possible retention times. The service life can be extended by using appropriate pre-column cartridges.
HALO is a registered trademark of the manufacturer Advanced Materials Technology, Inc., Wilmington, USA.
