The Discovery Zr-PBD HPLC column 75x2.1mm, 3µm, is based on zirconia with a polybutadiene modification. The Discovery Zr-PBD is intended for robust reversed-phase methods where a surface chemistry different to silica is desired. The Discovery Zr-PBD is used for demanding pH conditions, strongly basic analytes, complex matrices and methods that benefit from the chemical stability of a zirconia surface.
The Discovery Series includes various material platforms and surface chemistries. In addition to classic silica-based reverse-phase columns, high-purity HS phases, pentafluorophenyl, RP-amide, and PEG selectivities, as well as zirconia-based phases, are available. Bio-Wide-Pore variants with larger pores are designed for peptides and proteins. This makes Discovery particularly well-suited for method development when standard C18 selectivity is insufficient or more robust surfaces are required.
