The Ascentis Express ES-Cyano HPLC/UHPLC column 75x2.1mm, 2.7µm, bears a cyano modification on a fused-core matrix. The Ascentis Express ES-Cyano can be used in reversed-phase and normal-phase methods and displays moderate polarity with additional dipole selectivity. Applications of the Ascentis Express ES-Cyano include polar organic compounds, basic analytes, intermediates and methods that lie between classical RP and NP mechanisms.
Ascentis Express columns are based on fused-core or superficially porous particles. A solid core combined with a porous shell provides short diffusion paths and an efficient packing structure. As a result, high column numbers and narrow peaks can be achieved, often without reaching the backpressure associated with fully porous sub-2-µm particles. The platform includes classic reverse-phase columns, polar embedded phases, HILIC phases, and application-specific surface chemistries.
Ascentis Express is a registered trademark of the manufacturer Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany.
