The Inertsil Amide HPLC column 100x1.0mm, 3µm, is a carbamoyl- or amide-modified silica phase for hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC). Inertsil Amide retains highly polar analytes that are only weakly retained-or not at all-on conventional reverse-phase columns. The uncapped Amide surface offers strong polar interactions and is suitable for acetonitrile-rich mobile phases containing an aqueous buffer component. Typical applications include sugars, small polar metabolites, nucleobases, nucleosides, water-soluble vitamins, melamine/cyanuric acid, and other hydrophilic compounds. The 3-Series high-purity silica base supports stable HILIC methods with reproducible retention.
The Inertsil series is based on a high-purity, spherical silica matrix whose pore structure, particle size distribution, and surface are carefully controlled during production. Low metal contamination and careful surface treatment reduce the activity of free silanol groups. This minimizes undesirable secondary interactions—particularly tailing and adsorption with basic or chelating analytes—and promotes stable retention times. This reproducible silica matrix forms the basis for the various Inertsil modifications and ensures reliable selectivities across the series. Appropriate Inertsil pre-column cartridges should be used to protect the analytical packing bed from particles and the sample matrix and to extend column lifespan.
