The ProteoSil 300-SEC HPLC column 50x6.0mm, 5µm, features a diol-modified 300 Å silica bed for aqueous size-exclusion chromatography. The ProteoSil 300-SEC is designed for proteins, peptides, monoclonal antibodies, oligonucleotides, and nucleic acids in the range of approximately 5,000 to 600,000 Da. Due to the larger pore width, even larger biomolecules can enter the pore volume and be separated based on hydrodynamic size. Typical applications include protein aggregates, fragment analysis, antibody characterization, and GFC methods that require separation by molecular size without dominant hydrophobic interactions.
The ProteoSil series is designed for bioseparations in which pore size, modification, and hardware must be specifically tailored to sensitive biomolecules. It is based on a high-purity silica matrix with pore sizes of 100 Ã…, 200 Ã…, or 300 Ã…. Smaller pores are particularly suitable for low-molecular-weight peptides, while 200 Ã… materials are used for medium-sized peptides and oligonucleotides. For larger proteins, hydrophobic peptides, and antibodies, 300 Ã… materials are available. In addition, ProteoSil HILIC and ProteoSil SEC round out the series for hydrophilic analytes and size-based separations. Using appropriate ProteoSil pre-column cartridges or guard columns, the analytical column can be protected from particles, strongly adsorbing sample components, and matrix carryover.
