The Inertsil Prep-C8 preparative HPLC column 250x30mm, 10µm, features an octyl modification (also known as RP-8, C8) for preparative reverse-phase chromatography. Compared to Prep-ODS, Inertsil Prep-C8 exhibits lower hydrophobic retention and can therefore enable shorter run times, milder elution conditions, or different selectivity. This phase is suitable for semipreparative method development, scale-up, and preparative purification when C18 phases cause excessive retention or yield fractions that are too broad. Typical applications include the purification of organic synthesis products, pharmaceutical intermediates, natural product fractions, and hydrophobic components, where C8 selectivity is specifically utilized.
