Product Description

The Astec CYCLOBOND II HPLC column 250x4.6mm, 5µm, based on native γ-cyclodextrin modification. The larger cavity of the Astec CYCLOBOND II can accommodate different molecular sizes than β-cyclodextrin phases. The Astec CYCLOBOND II is used for larger aromatic racemates, flexible molecules, natural products and chiral compounds where a larger inclusion geometry is advantageous.

Features and Benefits

  • Cyclodextrin-based HPLC CSPs
  • Native and derivatized selectors
  • Suitable for polar and aromatic enantiomers
  • Complementary to glycopeptide and polysaccharide phases
  • Usable in multiple mobile-phase modes

Additional Notes

Astec CYCLOBOND columns are based on β- or γ-cyclodextrin selectors bound to a silica backbone. The cyclodextrin cavity enables the formation of inclusion complexes, while hydroxy, acetyl, dimethyl, dinitrophenyl, or hydroxypropyl groups provide additional interactions. This allows for the differentiation of the shape, size, and functional groups of a pair of enantiomers. CYCLOBOND phases are used in chiral HPLC for screening, method development, and targeted enantiomer separations.
