Product Description

The Waters Torus 1-AA SFC column 150x2.1mm, 1.7µm, is based on two-stage functionalised BEH particles and features a 1-aminoanthracene modification. The Waters Torus 1-AA was developed for separations in achiral SFC. The aromatic 1-AA surface is particularly suitable for neutral and hydrophobic compounds. The Waters Torus 1-AA is used, among other things, for neutral drugs, hydrophobic compounds, aromatic analytes and orthogonal SFC method development.

Features and Benefits

  • Four achiral SFC selectivities
  • Two-stage functionalized BEH particles
  • Good peak shapes with reduced additive requirements
  • 1.7 and 5 µm particles
  • Scalable from analytical to preparative

Additional Notes

Torus phases are produced through a two-step functionalization of BEH hybrid particles. This surface architecture shields against undesirable interactions with the base material and allows for the targeted adjustment of achiral SFC selectivities. 2-PIC, DEA, DIOL, and 1-AA differ significantly in basicity, polarity, aromaticity, and hydrogen-bonding ability. This enables broad selectivity screening to be conducted within a common particle base and allows an analytical method to be transferred to preparative Torus formats.
