The Waters CORTECS C18 HPLC-/UHPLC column 150x2.1mm, 1.6µm, is based on an octadecylsilyl phase (other designations: ODS, RP-18, C18) on solid-core silica particles and is designed for reversed-phase chromatography. The solid-core architecture increases efficiency and speed with a shorter diffusion path than fully porous particles. In practice the Waters CORTECS C18 is suitable, for example, for fast RP methods, drug analysis, routine QC, environmental and food analysis.

Additional Information

CORTECS columns are packed with surface-porous solid-core particles. A dense core is surrounded by a porous outer layer, resulting in shorter diffusion paths and high separation efficiency at comparatively moderate backpressure compared to fully porous particles. The series includes classic C18 and C8 phases, the polar-retentive T3 chemistry, Shield RP18, Phenyl, and HILIC. C18+ and Premier versions complement the solid-core base with surface or hardware technologies for challenging basic and metal-affine analytes.
