The Waters ACQUITY UPLC CSH C18 UPLC column 150x0.075mm, 1.7µm, is based on an octadecylsilyl phase (also known as ODS, RP-18, C18) on Charged-Surface-Hybrid (CSH) particles and is used in reversed-phase chromatography. The low, positively acting surface charge improves peak shapes and loadability of bases particularly with low ionic, acidic mobile phases. The Waters ACQUITY UPLC CSH C18 provides C18 selectivity for hydrophobic, neutral, acidic and basic analytes and can be used in isocratic or gradient-based methods. Typical applications of the Waters ACQUITY UPLC CSH C18 include LC-MS methods with formate or formic acid, basic active pharmaceutical ingredients, fast UPLC methods and robustness testing.
The Waters ACQUITY series includes sub-2-µm UPLC phases based on hybrid particles, high-strength silica, and charged-surface hybrid materials. BEH particles consist of an organic-inorganic hybrid matrix and offer high chemical and mechanical stability. HSS particles provide silica-like selectivity with high pressure stability, while CSH particles enable particularly good peak shapes for basic analytes in LC-MS-friendly mobile phases thanks to a controlled surface charge. Compatible VanGuard or Guard systems protect the main column from matrix components.
