The Waters XSelect HSS T3 HPLC/UHPLC column 100x3.0mm, 5µm, is built on High-Strength-Silica particles and features a water-wettable T3 C18 modification based on an octadecylsilyl phase (other designations: ODS, RP-18, C18). The primary application focus of the Waters XSelect HSS T3 is in reversed-phase chromatography. The T3 chemistry increases retention of polar analytes and is compatible with up to 100% aqueous mobile phases. In practice, the Waters XSelect HSS T3 is suitable, for example, for polar active substances, metabolites, water-soluble molecules, bioanalysis and method development.

Additional Notes

XSelect combines two deliberately different particle platforms. CSH uses a BEH hybrid framework with a controlled positive surface charge and is specifically designed to provide good peak shapes and increased loading capacity for basic compounds. HSS is based on high-strength silica and often provides stronger retention as well as different selectivities than BEH or CSH phases. C18, phenyl-hexyl, fluoro-phenyl, T3, PFP, and cyano offer a broad range of method development options; specialized peptide phases extend these concepts to bioanalytical separations.
